FITUR 2025 is a grand celebration of global tourism, bringing together over 150 countries in one vibrant and dynamic event. For attendees, it is an opportunity to explore the world in just a few days, meeting people from different backgrounds and experiencing the richness of diverse cultures.

In this new episode of the travel & lifestyle show "Home Away From Home", we return to FITUR 2025, one of the world's largest tourism trade events & travel expos held in Madrid, Spain, to showcase bucket-list destinations, connect with businesses & travelers worldwide, and immerse in diverse cultures from Asia and Africa to Europe and the Americas.

Let's Journey from East to West

For first-time attendees like actress and host Miss Mela Habijan, the sheer scale of FITUR is breathtaking. "It’s as if you’ve traveled the world in just one event," she shared enthusiastically. The expo provides glimpses into various countries’ offerings, from travel destinations to cultural experiences and business opportunities.

One of the highlights for Mela was the Asian Pavilion. Having lived in Madrid for a year, she expressed a longing for the warmth and familiarity of her home region. The pavilion not only showcased the beauty of Asian cultures but also created a sense of belonging among visitors.

"It’s amazing how people from all over the world can gather in one place, not focusing on differences but embracing each other’s uniqueness. The expo is about connecting, interacting, and building meaningful relationships," Mela emphasized.

The Allure of Japan: A Blend of Tradition and Modernity

Among the most popular destinations at FITUR, Japan stood out as a crowd favorite. Shirley Zhang of Osaka Convention & Tourism Bureau, highlighted the country's unique appeal. "Japan’s culture is a beautiful mix of the traditional and the modern. Visitors can experience ancient traditions like sumo wrestling and Kabuki theater, while also diving into the vibrant worlds of anime and manga."

Osaka, in particular, drew attention for its rich history and culinary heritage. "Osaka started as a merchant city, and it has always been known for its incredible food. All the best ingredients and products made their way through Osaka before spreading to the rest of Japan. That’s why we take our food very seriously," Shirley explained. From street food stalls to high-end dining, Osaka is a paradise for food lovers.

Morocco: Discover Agadir

While many people associate Morocco with Marrakesh or the iconic film "Casablanca," the country has much more to offer. Chaimaa Dahmaz, a tourism professional from Morocco, shed light on the beauty of Agadir, a coastal city known for its stunning beaches, luxurious hotels, and mouth-watering seafood.

"Agadir is where I was born and raised, and it’s a hidden gem that visitors absolutely love. Our local cuisine is full of rich, intense flavors that make Morocco a true culinary adventure," she shared passionately.

A Global Family United by Travel

FITUR is more than just a travel expo—it’s a testament to the power of travel in uniting people from different backgrounds. As Carlo, the host of "Home Away From Home" put it, "No matter where we come from or what our differences are, we should embrace one another. We are one big global family."

Whether exploring the wonders of Japan, the warmth of Turkey, or the hidden gems of Morocco, FITUR offers a world of discovery under one roof. With each handshake, cultural exchange, and shared experience, it reaffirms that travel is about more than just destinations—it’s about connection, understanding, and the celebration of humanity.
