Updated: Nov 19

The highly anticipated 44th edition of FITUR, set to take place in Madrid from January 24-28, promises to be a milestone event in the tourism world. With a record-breaking lineup, the fair will bring together 9,000 companies, 152 countries, and 806 exhibitors, making it the world’s leading trade fair for the tourism industry. As the tourism sector continues its impressive recovery, FITUR 2024 is expected to attract over 150,000 professional visitors and 100,000 travel enthusiasts over the weekend, with an economic impact of more than €430 million for Madrid.

This year, Ecuador will shine as the Partner Country, showcasing its rich culture and natural beauty to a global audience. Sustainability also takes center stage, with environmental and social responsibility embedded throughout the event. FITUR’s commitment to a more sustainable tourism future is evident in the wide range of eco-conscious travel options and innovative solutions on display.

The fair has grown in all dimensions, including exhibition space, which now spans nine halls, and the number of exhibitors, which has increased by 7% compared to last year. Notably, international participation has expanded significantly, with 152 countries—20 more than in 2023—taking part. This global representation reflects the growing strength of the tourism industry and the widespread optimism for 2024.

FITUR will also be a hub for the latest travel technologies, with nearly 100 companies in the Travel Technology section. These innovations are key to enhancing the tourism experience and reflect the latest trends in the industry. The event underscores the global recovery of tourism, which is projected to reach nearly 90% of pre-pandemic levels, according to the UNWTO.

FITUR 2024 isn’t just a business event—it’s a celebration of travel, culture, and innovation, offering a unique opportunity for both industry professionals and travelers to connect, learn, and explore. Whether you're in the tourism business or simply a travel enthusiast, FITUR is the place to discover the future of global travel.
